It was supposed to be a day of great joy but turned into a day of great sadness for one of our customers. When Mom arrived at Baby & Co. for an ultrasound gender determination, we were all stunned to discover that we could not detect a heartbeat. This was later confirmed by her doctor, but Mom decided to turn her sadness into joy for other families. She purchased four of our Heartbeat bears – these are stuffed animals that allow families to record the heartbeat of their child. She asked us to give them to other families.
At the last second, she decided to keep one for her daughter. We had done a scan of the new baby earlier and had recordings of a heartbeat from that first visit. Mom had us place that heartbeat on one of our Heartbeat Bears for her daughter so they would never forget the little one who wasn’t able to join us.
What an incredible Mom.
